Ipods in Education

Ever since the Ipod was introduced, it has changed the music world. It has also had a profound impact on the educational world as well. You can download songs to help with Math facts, subscribe to free educational podcasts which are automatically updated and utilize the notes feature to keep important historical documents like the Bill of Rights, and Constitution at your fingertips. In our building, we have started utilizing the photos feature on the Ipod to store Flashcards. Even though flashcards utilize lower-level thinking skills, the engagement it offers our students is invaluable. These students are able to learn important Math facts while listening to their favorite music. This technology allows the user to learn "anytime and anywhere." We are so excited to be using Ipods in Education, and hope you will find innovative ways to integrate technology, as well. If you are interested, you can download the flashcards we have created below, and use them in your classroom.
